Born in Vietnam, Chi draws inspiration from both Vietnamese and Canadian cultures, honouring her mother’s traditional recipes. Her work has been featured in Global News, CBC, and The Georgia Straight, and her restaurant Chi is recognized as one of Vancouver’s best dining destinations.

Chi Restaurant

Chi Restaurant opened in 2016 in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighborhood. It began as a modern Vietnamese restaurant, reflecting the vibrant flavors and traditions of Vietnam. When the pandemic forced restaurants around the world to close, Chi was among them. But as doors reopened, Chi transformed, reimagining itself as one of Vancouver’s first fully plant-based restaurants, joining the global movement toward more sustainable dining.

Focused on local, seasonal ingredients and Asian-inspired flavors, Chi became known for its creative and mindful approach to cooking. After nine years, Chef Chi Le gathered her recipes, memories, and notes from the restaurant into a book, a collection that celebrates the journey, the food, and the people who made Chi what it was.
